Rock fans have a tough decision to make this week: indie, Latin or alternative?
This week Beck, Carlos Santana and The Mars Volta will perform in El Paso.
Beck will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Abraham Chavez Theatre. The Grammy-winning artist will entertain fans with music from his latest CD, “Modern Guilt.” His opening act is MGMT. Tickets are $38, plus a service fee.Guitar icon Carlos Santana will make his fan groove to his smooth strumming at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26 at the UTEP Don Haskins Center. Joining him on stage is the Salvador Santana Band. Tickets range from $40 to $60. There is a service fee and an additional 50 cent charge for Milagro Charity.
Last, but certainly not the least favorite, is El Paso darlings: The Mars Volta. The alternative rock band, which was founded in El Paso, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28 at the Abraham Chavez Theatre. The Mars Volta will play music from their newest CD, “The Bedlam in Goliath.” Tickets are $33.50, plus a service fee.Tickets for all these shows can be bought from Ticketmaster.
