From , Former About.com GuideSeptember 29, 2008

This week Biggs Army Airfield will host one of the most exciting events of the year: the Amigo Airsho.

On Oct. 4 and 5, El Paso's big blue skies will be filled with breathtaking aircraft formations and maneuvers by various performers including the Canadian Forces SnowbirdsAmigo Airsho, the F-15E Strike Eagle, the F-16 Fighting Falcon and the Strategic Army Corps Sport Parachute Team known as the "Golden Knights."

If you’ve never been to one of these shows you’re in for a real treat. In addition to the sky performances, you’ll be able to see some of the amazing machinery on the ground. The static displays will include tanks, helicopters, missiles, vintage aircraft and state-of-the-art jets that you can climb into and pretend to be the pilot. Just don't press the red button.

Gates open at 10 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for children ages 6 to 11, military dependents and seniors. Children 5 and under get in free.

You can also by tickets for one of chalets and get a meal from one of the following restaurants: Rudy’s Bar-B-Que, Fuddruckers, Delicious or Carino’s. The chalets are food tents hosted by local companies with an exposed seating area where you can eat and watch the show. Tickets for the chalets are $35 for adults and $25 for children ages 6 to 11. If you plan to really live it up you can buy a $100 VIP Chalet ticket and peek into everyone’s tent and patio area.

If you go, buy your ticket early at Albertson’s or Circle K and save about $5 on each ticket; except the VIP Chalet ticket.

And don't forget to take your sunglasses, sunscreen and a camera.
